BIS INFORMATION:Sub: Non tariff measures (SPS and TBT) issue being faced by our exporters to be raised in the forthcoming WTO SPS/TBT committee meetings

Dear Madam/sir,

Sub:    Non tariff measures (SPS and TBT) issue being faced by our exporters to be raised in the forthcoming WTO SPS/TBT committee meetings

BIS has received a communication  from Ministry of Commerce vide which it has been intimated that the upcoming WTO TBT/SPS Committee Meetings are scheduled to be held in June/July 2019.  These meetings give an opportunity to the member countries to raise issues which adversely affect trade bilaterally or multilaterally with regard to the non tariff measures relating to SPS/TBT measures adopted by any other WTO member country .

In this regard, BIS has been requested provide issues (if any) which is adversely impacting our exports and therefore could be raised as Specific Trade Concerns (STCs) during the forthcoming meetings of SPS and TBT Committee along with a small background note to the issue.

In view of above you are requested to kindly send us the concerns (if any)  so that the same could be raised as Specific Trade Concerns (STCs) during the forthcoming meetings of SPS and TBT Committee for forwarding the same to Ministry of Commerce.

The requested information may kindly be provided latest by 16th May 2019.

This may kindly be considered as Most Urgent & Important
